Our Journey

2010

The Breakthrough

15 years ago, a tree-growing technology in a plant incubator was developed. The device is a polypropylene box with a lid featuring a vertical tunnel in the center and a wick that provides the plant roots access to water. The difference between day and night temperatures allows the device to condense and collect moisture from the atmosphere, providing the seedling with sufficient water for rooting and growth. Over several years through pilot projects and initiatives, the plant incubator technology has proven its effectiveness, achieving over 90% seedling survival rate, while conventional planting methods do not exceed 15%; significant water reduction for irrigation compared to other known methods.

Challenges We Faced

However, alongside obvious advantages, significant disadvantages were also identified: complex design and consequently high price; with a large crown of a young tree, the plastic incubator cannot be removed from the plant stem; in the morning, the dew collector cools poorly and collects water inefficiently as it is located above the reservoir with water heated during the day; sand gets into the collector and it stops generating moisture from the atmosphere; additional protection from herbivorous animals and UV filters from the sun had to be installed. All of the above reduced the incubator efficiency and increased maintenance costs.

2021

R&D and Innovation

In 2021, our startup became interested in the problem of reforestation in deserts using autonomous plant incubators. It was decided to rethink existing approaches and create our own product free from the disadvantages of analogues. With support from the Innovation Assistance Foundation, R&D was conducted on developing an autonomous plant incubator: dozens of prototypes were made, tests of biodegradable and bioinert materials, new solutions related to the body, collector, ground anchors, reservoir and other device elements were worked out. Patent RU2022106575 was obtained. Everything works efficiently: stylish design, no expensive molds needed, the collector stably generates morning dew, a reliable ground anchor holds in sand, the seedling is provided with a microclimate, the incubator can be easily removed from a young tree with a wide crown.

GreenFort Concept

In 2025, the concept and design of the innovative plant incubator "GreenFort" was finally formulated. Our new approach: use widespread low technologies (low-tech), minimalism in design, low cost. Our solution: a supporting screen in the form of commercial polymer mesh; reservoir - polyethylene bag with capillary irrigation system; film collector for collecting rainwater and condensation from the atmosphere; AI digital platform with predictive analytics. The GreenFort concept allows planting seedlings almost anywhere. It provides plants with everything they need for growth and makes economical forest restoration in the desert possible. It is simple and cheap to manufacture, transport and install.

GreenFort Advantages

Unprecedented protection of seedlings from herbivores, sun and wind

Multi-use incubator (removal from plant stem with overgrown wide crown and installation for replanting)

Collector is less prone to sand filling and can "self-clean" from sand

More efficient dew collection due to better cooling of the collector surface

Increased volume of generated water condensate by collecting from 2 collector surfaces

Reduced material consumption and cost through simpler production technologies

Reduced logistics costs for delivery and assembly

Possibility of reuse with other plants

Reduced recycling costs

Localization of production near the tree planting area

Advanced AI Technology

Powered by cutting-edge sensors and machine learning
